"As it is" has always been important in Noto.
The first Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems in Japan(2011)
Nice and friendly people in Noto.
Please feel it with your five senses.
Look at the sylvan village and the houses with black tiles and white walls.
Taste our food which is blessings of nature
And feel our lifestyle which hasn't changed for decades.
You can feel a sense of nostalgia and our slow-moving time
Just like you have slipped back in time.
Shunran-no-Sato is just near the Sea of Japan which is abundant of many kinds of "delicious fishes" contributing to the dietary and fishing culture here. | People in Shunran-no-sato have been long appreciating the nature. Food provided by the surrounding mountains, rivers and sea have been creating the culture and still remains being a part of their life. | Some of the houses in Shunran-no-sato were built over 100 years ago and remain the same as they were. They are not specialized for tourists so that visitors can enjoy the authentic Japanese atmosphere. |

The papers on the doors are loan contracts in the Meiji-era in this village. There were a lot more people living here and the landed class constructed a system where the peasants can live in a loaned house and field equally under the rules made by the landlords. | There are tons of dialects fostered in this unique geography that people from cities hardly understand. | Vegetables harvested in this area are fresh and additive-free natural. |
Shunran-no-Sato could offer its original sake depending on the season . It tastes incredibly refreshing. | Edible wild plant, Sansai, on the mountain is a part of the dietary culture admitted as the world Agricultural heritage by FAO. It grows without being cared for. |

And finally, here did emerge the authentic Japanese guest houses. Protecting the tradition handed down through generations on the Japanese old fire place and pot-hook and comfort with Wajima-lacquerm, bowls made of Japanese zelkova and meals full of nature, Shunran-no-Sato serves all the visitors.
Shunran No Sato consists of over 40 guest houses (farm-inns). Each provides its unique warm welcome with its resident(s). All strictly protect the rule; only a group of guests for one house each day.
